PPA plastic, also known as poly (phthalamide) resin, is a semi aromatic polyamide made from terephthalic acid or phthalic acid. Suzhou Qinna Plastic Raw Materials Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturer of plastic particles. PPA plastics come in both semi crystalline and amorphous forms, with a glass transition temperature of around 255 ° F. Amorphous PPA is primarily used in situations where barrier function is required; Half crystalline PPA resin is primarily used for injection molding and other melt processing techniques. The following article will mainly introduce the latter - semi crystalline PPA resin, with special emphasis on it. The melting point of semi crystalline PPAS is about 590 ° F, supplied in the form of opaque rectangular slices.
PPA particles are more robust and stable than fatty polyamides such as nylon 6, 6, etc; Lower sensitivity to moisture; Better utilization of thermal energy; And its creep, fatigue, and chemical resistance functions are much better. For example, PPA resin containing 45% glass short fibers has a tensile strength of approximately 276 MPa, a flexural modulus spanning 13786 MPa, and a heat distortion temperature (HDT) of 549 ° F. Even with PPA grade mineral fillers, the tensile strength can reach 117MPa. The ductility of PPA resin is not as good as nylon 6,6, but an unreinforced impact modified PPA resin has been developed, with a notched cantilever beam impact strength of up to 20 feet pounds per inch.
Due to the excellent physical, thermal, and electrical properties of PPA resin, especially its moderate cost, it has a wider range of applications. These features, along with excellent chemical resistance, make PPA a candidate for many aspects of industries such as cars. The trend towards better aerodynamic body planning, along with higher functionality motors, will improve the temperature of the engine chassis, making traditional thermoplastic materials less suitable. These new requirements make PPA one of the candidate materials for producing the following components: car headlight reflectors, bearing seats, pulleys, sensor housings, fuel line components, and electrical components.
